A report that documents the simulation of streamflow for watersheds in Du Page County, Ill., by use of a computer model, has been released by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), U.S. Department of the Interior. The study was done in cooperation with the Du Page County Department of Environmental Concerns and is part of Du Page County's comprehensive stormwater-management program. USGS hydrologist Jim Duncker, coauthor of the report, said, "The results of the study provide engineers, scientists, and planners with an accurate means of analyzing current stormwater problems and the effects of future development on flooding in Du Page County. The computer model can be used to simulate storm runoff resulting from various land-use planning scenarios for watersheds in Du Page County."
The report, titled "Regional Rainfall-Runoff Relations for Simulation of Streamflow for Watersheds in Du Page County, Illinois," by J.J. Duncker and C.S. Melching, is published as U.S. Geological Survey Water-Resources Investigations Report 98-4035.
